Frequently Asked Questions

The Answers You Need

What is telepsychiatry?

Telepsychiatry gives you the convince of conducting your mental health appointment from anywhere you are. This allows you to be comfortable, on the go or allows for continuation of your day without interference. You simply need a computer, phone or tablet to connect with our team!

Does Aligned Cognition Healthcare Services, PC accept my insurance?

Aligned Cognition Healthcare Services does not accept insurance. We do not have any interaction with insurance for your appointments. However you may use your insurance for medications, labs, and images. We do charge for your appointment the night before therefore please cancel within 24 business hours to avoid cancelation fees. Any other fees you incur will be charged at the time of service. For example prior authorizations are $50, once the PA has been submitted your account will be charged regardless of the outcome of the PA. We look forward to assisting you in any way possible!

How do I pay for a telepsychiatry visit?

Once you have established yourself as a patient, you will be sent a link for the patient portal. Once in the patient portal you will have access to paying for your or your child's visits via accepted credit cards or debit cards. You may prepay for any appointment as needed. You will also use the patient portal to pay for any additional services or fees that have incurred.

How will I get my prescriptions?

All prescriptions will be electronically submitted to the pharmacy of your choice. Some prescriptions will be called into your pharmacy. In rare cases prescriptions can be mailed. Your insurance will cover your prescriptions as described by your policy. Prior Authorizations are $50/per authorization no matter the outcome from your insurance and will be charged once the PA is submitted. Our office does check the Prescription Drug Monitoring Program for all controlled substances. You will be allowed one change of a pharmacy a month. If you require that the psychiatrist needs to change your pharmacy location due to state shortages of your medications more than once there is a $25 administrative fee.

How will I get my labs drawn?

Lab request will be submitted electronically. You may also be instructed to print your specific lab requisition to take with you to your lab site. Your insurance may pay for either LabCorp or Quest for lab draws. Please know which company that your insurance covers as we are not responsible for any bills that could occur.  You may also email us your lab results from your primary care doctor to be upload into your chart.

Can I get a same-day appointment? Do you offer walk-in clinic services?

There are no same day appointment allowed or walk in capabilities. Please review our polices section for additional information. If you have a psychiatric or medical emergency do not call, text, or email the office. Please go to the nearest emergency room or call 911.

Can I attend my child's appointments?

The very first appointment guardian(s) are to attend alone. Next will be an appointment with only your child then finally an appointment with guardian(s) and child.
It is recommended that your child attends follow up appointments alone and at their scheduled request time. Your child and the psychiatrist need to build a therapeutic bond and that requires your child to be able to discuss anything freely. You may schedule a family session or parent session if you have any additional concerns or questions about your child's care. Depending on your child's scheduled visits you will have the opportunity to meet with the psychiatrist for updates. Please contact us to learn more.

This allows you to feel safe and secure in the location of your choice using a computer, phone, or tablet to connect with your doctor.
